The Ontario Country Music Association is an undertaking by some energetic individuals in the country music industry in Ontario.
There is currently no Country Music Association that represents all of Ontario.  By developing working relationships with existing
associations in the North, Ottawa, and other regional areas, we hope we can fill the gap and make a difference for all.

Our vision is to have an association who's whose board reflects it's membership.  The board will be made up by majority of regular
members, with the remainder from music industry suppliers, associates, and fans.  This will guarantee a board that is responsive to
it's membership and also has the expertise and knowledge from those in the music industry that assist regular members in their
careers.  We will be an association that actively seeks the input of it's membership as to the needs and wants they have to help them
in their career.  We will also be an association that seeks the input of those that are most important: the country music fan.  When
we speak of country music, we also mean it's subs, such as: folk, bluegrass, roots, alternative, Americana/Canadiana, etc.

The current mandate of the Ontario Country Music Association is to develop, promote, and support, the growth of Country Music
in Ontario, for the benefit of its singers, songwriters, musicians, bands, and industry as a whole.

For development, we feel we should be providing educational resources for all members, to make them a better performer and
increase their chances of obtaining a career in the country music industry.  We plan to do this through a series of workshops and
training seminars throughout the year where members can learn about marketing, promoting, applying to funding organizations,
touring, showcasing, songwriting, stage performance, radio release and tracking, and other such areas.

For promotion, we feel it is our duty to help promote all members.  We want local artists to gain regional exposure, regional artists to
gain provincial exposure, and provincial artists to gain national and international exposure.  One such effort has already been set into
to place with the creation of showcases throughout Ontario.  Through showcases we will endevour to get industry representatives
and fans to come out and see what Ontario has to offer in country music.    We also plan to execute advertising campaigns that will
promote  Ontario Country Music and those in it.  Already, we have our own internet radio and video station.  We also plan to create
a Hall of Fame for those in the Ontario Country Music industry that have laid the ground work in the past, for those in the present
and future.  We also plan produce an annual awards ceremony that will award excellence in all areas of the country music industry
in Ontario.

For support, we plan to create a resource list of industry and contacts  that can help members achieve their goals.  We will also
lobby on members behalf on matters arising that negatively impact their career.  We will also identify and endevour to create areas
of funding that can assist members pursue their careers and projects.  We will also actively seek input from our members for areas
they need support in.

All this will take time and funding, but, we are well on our way, with the association being very close to it's incorporation and the
creation of the board of directors.

We have memberships available for singers, songwriters, musicians, bands, corporate and industry, fans, other associations, radio,
TV, and print.

It is our hope that you will consider joining the Ontario Country Music Association, as well as help promote it’s existence and those
that it will benefit.
