| Hailing from the small town of South Mountain, Ontario, Canada, Cory M. Coons has been writing, recording and playing music for almost 20 years. His influences range from early rock n' roll, folk, and popular artists like The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, and in later years John Mellencamp, Styx, Bon Jovi, Neil Young and Keith Urban. In mid-2004, Cory re-grouped and took a short hiatus from his "Tycoons" Band to pursue a Country/Rock solo project of his own that landed him great local response, as well as some good radio exposure. Cory's first solo album "From the Ground Up", was recorded at Little Chicago Studios (Formerly in Smiths Falls, ON) now located in Ottawa, and was co-produced by Tim Greencorn and Cory himself. Cory and the present "Tycoons" band lineup is looking forward to some great new collaborations together, and are currently working on brand new material for another cd in 2008! |
